Cognitive Attentional Standards Platform (C.A.S.)
Full compliance, certification, and monitoring platform
C.A.S., the Cognitive Attentional Standards Platform, is a multi tier enterprise platform for the systematic assessment, certification, and monitoring of organizational and platform compliance across digital environments. It is designed to evaluate digital attention harm, structural platform risk, legal exposure, and governance readiness through a unified architecture that moves assessments from intake to scoring, remediation, and public certification.
C.A.S. is the only platform of its kind in the world built to combine algorithmic digital harm measurement, direct financial loss translation, developer facing architecture audits, sociological public resource framing, multi state digital law compliance checking, and Digital Services Act risk analysis in a single operational system.
The Attention Safeguard Models (A.S.M.)
The Scoring Engine Inside C.A.S.
A.S.M. is the harm scoring engine at the center of C.A.S. It looks at a platform's design choices, how much content it pushes, how aggressively its algorithm amplifies that content, how emotionally charged the content is, how fast engagement loops move, and how strong social feedback pressure is, and turns those design choices into a single risk score. Unlike other scores in C.A.S. that go up when things are healthy, A.S.M. runs in reverse, meaning the higher the score, the more harmful the platform is to attention.
A.S.M. traces a direct chain, it looks at a platform's design pressures, converts that into an overall pressure reading, then maps that pressure onto a harm level ranging from low to critical. Two things can shift the result, sustained volatility in attention load pushes harm higher, and strong recovery mechanisms can bring harm down slightly, but only when a platform is already in the safer range. A platform already flagged as severe or critical cannot buy its way down with recovery features alone.
As pressure rises, A.S.M. also tracks how people respond to it, a predictable sequence running from selective attention, to muting, to avoidance, to disengagement, to full withdrawal. These are the human reactions to an unsafe attention environment, not settings a platform controls.
HOW A.S.M. CONNECTS ACROSS C.A.S.
A.S.M. does not operate alone, it feeds nearly every other part of the platform.
Flows into the Safeguard signal, surfacing an automated alert, Insufficient Attention Safeguards, for human review when harm runs high
Feeds directly into C.A.S. certification, working alongside the platform's other scoring path to help determine Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Does Not Meet Standard
Rides along with State Compliance Assessments as independent supporting evidence
Appears as one of the three headline metrics, alongside C.A.S. and SIA, in every Enterprise assessment and dashboard
Shares its underlying pressure data with the DSA Risk Module's manipulation risk analysis
Keeps its own permanent record of every run and score, fully separate from the main assessment file, so there is a complete audit trail
A.S.M. is why C.A.S. exists, it is the live, running mechanism that proves a platform is causing digital attention harm, not just a theory about it.
What C.A.S. contains
C.A.S. is built as a connected platform made up of multiple functional domains that work together across the full lifecycle of an assessment. These include scoring and detection, workflow orchestration, compliance analysis, governance and remediation, analytics and research, certification, enterprise reporting, and operations and security.

PLATFORM ARCHITECTURE
Scoring and Detection Engine
This domain includes ASM Scoring, Attentional State Monitoring, SIA Dashboard, Structural Impact Assessment, Algorithm Detection, and the DSA Risk Module. Together, these components measure user attention regulation, analyze harmful structural patterns, detect algorithmic manipulation, and map systemic risks against DSA aligned frameworks.
Workflow and Queue Management
C.A.S. manages the movement of assessments across roles such as Assessor, Authority, and Enterprise through approval queues, assessor tasks, compliance review, workflow monitoring, messaging, and alerts. This allows assessments to move through a governed review pipeline rather than existing as isolated reports.
Compliance Engine
The compliance layer orchestrates the automated assessment pipeline through Evidence Matching, Statutory Citation Analysis, and Multi State Compliance Comparison. This is the engine that allows C.A.S. to evaluate systems against jurisdiction specific regulatory requirements, including identifying which state digital laws a platform may be violating and checking against the Digital Services Act in Europe.
Governance and Risk
This domain brings together Governance Dashboards, Risk Trends, and the Remediation Center to generate prioritized roadmaps for compliance and corrective action. Instead of stopping at diagnosis, C.A.S. is built to translate findings into governance action.
Analytics and Research
C.A.S. includes Industry and Benchmark Comparisons, Maturity Dashboards, and a Research Portal for scholarly analytics and dataset management related to cognitive attentional data. This gives the platform both applied governance value and research utility.
Public and Certification
The platform also manages public facing certification through the Certification Dashboard, Public Assessment Portal, and directories for organizations, platforms, and industry rankings. This makes C.A.S. both an internal compliance system and an external trust and accountability mechanism.
Enterprise Tier
For high volume assessment environments, C.A.S. includes Economic Impact Analysis and Enterprise Dashboard reporting for executive oversight and cross assessment comparison. This positions the platform for institutional and enterprise scale use.
Operations and Security
C.A.S. includes administrative controls for system health, backup management, release tracking, audit logging, and security investigations to preserve record integrity across assessments. That is important because the platform is built for governance credibility, not just analytics.
How the system works
The platform operates through orchestration logic that triggers multiple compliance engines in sequence to process assessments and finalize report data. The orchestration layer runs functions such as evidence intelligence, multi state compliance, and legal citation analysis, then aggregates all results into a master report for consistent display across the platform.
At the center of this workflow is the Master Report, which consolidates results from scoring, compliance, and governance subsystems into a unified entity. The evidence engine then dynamically pulls from raw platform crawls, user uploaded evidence, and statutory profiles to determine whether system mechanisms meet legal and policy requirements.
Why C.A.S. is distinct
C.A.S. does not operate like a standard behavioral analytics tool, a legal compliance dashboard, or a design advocacy framework. It combines the functions of all three while adding sociological assessment and public resource framing, which is why it can evaluate digital systems in a way those other categories cannot.
Functional comparison
| Platform / System | Measures Algorithmic Harm | Direct Financial Loss Translation | Developer Facing Architecture Audits | Sociological / Public Resource Framing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Delante Clark's C.A.S. | Yes | Yes, 6 Daily Loss Vectors | Yes, Automated Pipeline | Yes, Public Policy and Sociology |
| Quantum Metric / FullStory | No, measures frustration | Yes, calculates lost revenue | Yes, frontend behavioral tracking | No, purely commercial |
| Big 4 DSA Audit Frameworks | Yes, systemic social risks | No, focuses on regulatory fines | No, focused on policy compliance | Yes, legal and institutional health |
| Center for Humane Tech | Yes, addictive design loops | No, advocacy focused | No, manual guidelines | Yes, human well being |
Reading the table
The comparison shows that C.A.S. is the only system in this set that combines all four major functions in one platform, algorithmic harm measurement, financial loss translation, developer facing architecture audits, and sociological public policy framing. Other tools address only fragments of this problem space, which is why C.A.S. is presented as its own category rather than as a variant of an existing product type.
Compliance capability
A key feature that deserves its own section is legal and regulatory intelligence. C.A.S. includes digital law coverage across U.S. states and the full DSA framework in Europe, enabling the platform to determine which laws a website or system may be violating based on platform evidence, architecture patterns, and statutory matching.
C.A.S. is not just a theory, a framework, or a dashboard. It is an integrated enterprise governance platform that translates original sociological research into live compliance infrastructure, automated detection systems, certification workflows, and public accountability mechanisms.
